Wednesday was time for another new workout in the MAX Workouts program, as I came to the 4B workout.
This workout was a High Intensity workout. I only had to do 2 exercises in total, but with a lot of repetitions. The first exercise was Dumbbell squat press ups, doing as many repetitions as possible in 20 seconds, followed by 40 seconds rest. 10 rounds of that, before having a rest of 2-3 minutes. After the longer rest, it was time for the 2nd exercise of Dumbbell Sumo Deadlift High Pulls (a regular sumo deadlift followed immediately with a high pull). Just like the first exercise, this was as many reps in 20 seconds, followed by 40 seconds of rest, for 10 rounds.
Thursday was time for another CHI run, again 15 minutes. Unfortunately I had trouble keeping my breathing under control, but I managed to run 3.3 km, which was 100 meters further than last week. So I'm slowly getting a faster pace.
After I got home, I thought I'd do a bit of Calisthenics of Pull ups, crunches, and push ups.
Friday ended up being a rest day for me. I was way too tired in my legs from the run and in my entire body from my Calisthenics workout (which seemed like a good idea at the time). So no running or workout, but I did enjoy the good weather we had, by walking through Strøget of Copenhagen.
Saturday, or yesterday, was a tough day. I started out by doing the 4C workout of MAX Workouts, which was 5 exercises with 40 seconds work, 20 seconds rest, and 1-2 minutes rest between rounds. The exercises were Dumbbell Plank Rows, Burpees, Push Presses, Alternating Split Squat Jumps, and Dumbbell Hang / Squat Cleans.
I felt pretty beaten after the workout, but wanted to try out the Oscar Mike [Military] quest on Fitocracy. The requirements for completing the quest is to walk 16.1 km with a pace of 9m18s per km or less, with a rucksack weighting 22.68 kg on moderate hills.
I packed my Rucksack with 24kg and started walking, and the first 6 km went by in less than 1 hour, and I was keeping the pace at around 9m12s per km.. So I was doing good..
Then I started feeling a hot spot underneath my left foot, just below the ball of my feet, and it just started to hurt more and more, and around 7.4 km, I took a break, and took of my boots and socks, and noticed a blister on my left foot and another one starting on my right.
I should have brought an extra pair of socks, but since it's been ages since I had my last blister from hiking, I hadn't thought of it. So I decided to turn back, as that was the quickest way home, and I didn't feel like walking almost 9 km with blisters and a heavy rucksack. The quickest way home ended up being 4.6 km, totaling my hike to 12 km. Unfortunately I had to slow my pace after 8.5 km, and ended up with a time, just under 1 hour.
I'll have to try it again another time, and note to self: remember extra socks, as well as tools for taking care of blisters.
Today I decided not to go for my INT run, as I can still feel the blisters when I walk around.
Instead I've been looking into Danish prices of equipment for a Home Gym, which I'll put up soon :)
